What are you proposing to build at 935-965 Market Street?
We are proposing a new five-level building with approximately 250,000 square feet of new retail space.

What types of tenants will be included in the project?
Urban Realty believes that the City's major retail corridor should offer balanced retail choices that cater to San Francisco's entire economic spectrum. While we have yet to engage any potential tenants for our proposed project, we intend to bring affordable, value-based retail tenants to the area and expand the shopping choices available to make this section of Market Street a shopping destination that truly caters to San Francisco's diverse demographic.

What kind of jobs will be available as a result of this project?
We estimate that this project would create up to 250 union jobs during construction and 760 new permanent retail positions. We are committed to utilizing the local workforce and resources available within our immediate community during the construction and development phase of the project.

What will you do to address traffic problems?
Traffic is inevitable along Market Street. Fortunately, it is remarkably well-served by public transit, including Muni and BART, and we are committed to encouraging transit ridership to limit any additional traffic generated by our project. We will work with the Department of Parking and Traffic and the Planning Department to thoroughly examine urban planning solutions to any traffic-related issues.

What other enhancements will occur to the surrounding area as a result of the project?
CityPlace will bring physical improvements to the surrounding area, in the form of lighting, plantings, and new artistic bicycle parking pods on Market Street. The CityPlace team will also make enhancements to Stevenson Street, the alley behind the project site, to encourage pedestrian activity.
