Before/After OVERALL BENEFITS
In addition to bringing new value-based retailers to the area, Urban Realty’s proposed project will enhance the appearance of the neighborhood and enliven the area west of Fifth Street. This will increase safety by putting more eyes and feet on the street, and the additional foot traffic will help engender new businesses and increase job opportunities in the area. CityPlace will also bring physical improvements to the area in the form of a new building and additional street lighting, enhancing the overall pedestrian experience in the area. The project is abundantly served by public transit including BART and 15 Muni routes. With reserved parking for a CarShare vehicle and 31 bicycles, this development will be accessible and convenient to all San Franciscans.

STEVENSON STREET ENHANCEMENTSBefore/After
In addition to the public-serving improvements that are directly related to CityPlace, the project development team is committing to making further enhancements to the area, focusing on Stevenson Street in particular. This alley, which runs behind the project site, is unwelcoming and suffers from illegal activity. In concert with the development of CityPlace, the project team will make improvements to bring more positive activity to the street and make it more attractive to pedestrians. The plan for Stevenson includes landscaping and design elements, as well as the creation of three small retail spaces for micro-vendors – small, local entities with a need for a storefront to get their business off the ground.
